How it works

The detail behind the engagement.

The home page tells you the four shapes and the headline price. This page is for buyers who want the contract details: how scoping works, what the build phase looks like week by week, who owns what at handover, and the long tail of questions a careful buyer asks before signing.

01Intro and scoping

Free intro call, then a paid scoping session.

The intro call is a 15-minute fit check. We talk through what the methodology is, what shape it should take as a tool, and whether the timing works. No work product, no pitch.

If we’re a fit, the next step is a paid 90-minute scoping session (£500–1k, creditable against the build). It’s a working session: methodology absorption, calculation walkthroughs, edge cases, all on the record. The day after, you get a one-page tool spec, a pricing recommendation, and a timing estimate in your inbox. Yours whether you book the build or not.

What you bring

  • Your methodology in whatever form it currently lives — Excel, Notion, PowerPoint, head
  • One or two recent client examples where the methodology was applied
  • The pain you are trying to solve

What you walk away with

  • A one-page written spec describing the tool
  • A pricing recommendation for the build
  • A timing estimate
  • An honest answer on whether Valoren is the right fit

If you don’t book the build, the spec is yours. Take it to another developer if that’s the right call. The scoping fee was the price of getting it right.

02The build, week by week

Four stages. Eight weeks. Same shape every time.

The home page shows the four-stage shape at a glance. This is the per-stage detail: what happens, what you get, what you sign off on.

I

Scope

Wk 0

Free intro call, then a paid scoping session. Output is a one-page spec.

  • 15-min intro call (free)
  • 90-min scoping session (£500–1k, paid)
  • One-page tool spec, pricing, timing — yours either way
II

Discover

Wk 1

Methodology absorption. Sit with you, walk through the calculations, lock the build spec.

  • Methodology walkthrough sessions
  • Edge-case interrogation (the questions a sceptical client would ask)
  • Build spec locked, signed, and contract triggered
III

Build

Wk 2–7

Production-quality code in a repo you own from day one. Iterative, with two demo-and-feedback sessions during the build.

  • Working preview URL by end of week 1 of build
  • Two scheduled demo + feedback sessions
  • Weekly written updates, async-shareable previews you can show your client
  • Bug fixes and scope nudges absorbed within scope; spec changes re-scope
IV

Handover

Wk 8

Code on your infrastructure or mine, full documentation, knowledge-transfer call. Optional 3-month retainer.

  • Final demo + sign-off
  • Code transferred to your repo + deployment to your infrastructure (or transfer of mine)
  • Knowledge-transfer session covering deploy, edit, and handoff to a future developer
  • Optional 3-month maintenance retainer for tweaks and small additions
03IP

What you own, what Valoren retains.

You own

  • The deliverable — the actual web tool, your branding, your client experience
  • The source code on handover
  • All client-specific IP and any methodology-specific calculations you bring
  • All client data the tool collects in production

Valoren retains

  • Reusable components, frameworks, and templates applied across multiple clients (UI patterns, calculation engines, deployment scaffolding)
  • Anonymised case-study rights, subject to your written permission

This split is in the standard engagement contract. If your situation has unusual IP needs (a previous engagement granted exclusive rights to a third party, for example), flag during scoping and the contract adjusts.

04Long-tail questions

Logistics, payment, capacity.

The conversion-relevant questions (cost, IP, code quality, scoping fee) are answered on the home page. These are the long-tail logistics ones a careful buyer asks before signing.

Not seeing your question? It probably belongs in the scoping call. Email mostafa@valoren.digital with one line.
